It was almost horrible. I had a 5 15pm boat we arrived at 5 05pm to check in. They checked me and I asked if I had time to use the restroom he said yes - the boat left right at 5 15pm. My friend and I went to use restroom got on the dock at literally at 5 13pm and the people on dock said it had left a few minutes early. The boat had left early I had to go back up and stand in line there was was one person working and a line of 8 people - not including their friends with them . Line was going so slow I called the Canal phone number talked to the initial guy on the phone who couldn t understand me his English wasn t great he also wasn t Dutch he kept arguing with me telling me that of course the boat leaves when you show up late I wasn t late and finally transferred me to someone more senior who was Dutch and could speak English . He then called the front desk I was still waiting in line and told them to make sure I got on the next boat. I was in a bit of a panic because I was worried there wasn t space on the next 5 45pm boat for me and my friend. All I needed was someone on the phone to say It s okay don t worry there s plenty of room on next boat you will get on it. When I finally go to the front of the line she said Yes the boat left early the guy is new you can get on the next boat and while she was nice she never said I am so sorry about this. Thus I said to her All I want is someone to say they are sorry and to give me some wine - because I am stressed and unhappy because I showed up on-time and the boat left without us - despite us being checked in. She said Oh Then I am sorry and let s get you some wine. And then we went back down to the dock where she asked the staff - who were lovely - to make sure we had wine and they served us wine while we waited for the next boat. The boat trip ultimately was lovely the captain was some sort of boat genius who clearly knew how to pilot a boat and overall a great tour. At the end of the day here are the lessons - Make sure the people checked in are on the boat - this can be as simple as counting heads. - Make sure boat leaves on-time never early - If things go wrong make sure staff knows how to A listen not argue and B just say Sorry - it diffuses the situation. Of course the important thing is if anyone is even reading this feedback and will even write back to me. That is the real test

Great service on board excellent female-only crew they were very proud about this athmosphere was good and we enjoyed the light festival. First bit of the trip was a lot more fun then the second part the darker parts of the canals didn t have much to see. The temperature of the food is something to keep an eye out for not everything was hot when served.
